Brazil vs Uruguay Schedule CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup Qualifiers
oragoo – In this match, both teams will fight for the runner-up position in the 2026 CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers Zone standings. Currently, Uruguay, nicknamed La Celeste, occupies that position with 19 points, while Brazil is in fourth place with 17 points.
The Selecao team needs a win to seize Uruguay’s position which is only two points behind. However, winning three points in Salvador does not automatically bring Brazil to the runner-up position, considering that Colombia, who are in third place with the same number of points, 19, also have the potential to beat Ecuador in the match that will take place on the same day at 05.00 WIB.
Brazil vs Uruguay Match Prediction
Although it does not guarantee Brazil to rise to the runner-up position, Seleção will fight hard to win this match. If Brazil manages to beat Uruguay, they have the opportunity to rise to third place, especially if Colombia trips up Ecuador. A positive result would be a sweet ending for Dorival Júnior’s team for 2024.
Brazil has enough capital to win this match. They showed an encouraging performance with unbeaten results in their last three matches in WCQ 2026, winning 7 points from two wins and one draw against Venezuela in the last match.
On average, Brazil earned 2.3 points per match, much better than the 10 points in the first eight matches of WCQ 2026 or around 1.3 points per match.
Brazil’s confidence is increasing, especially thanks to non-technical factors, namely the match venue. Statistically, Selecao has never lost when playing in Salvador, either in a trial match, Copa America, World Cup Qualifiers, or Confederations Cup. Out of a total of 21 matches, Brazil has won 15 and only drew six.
All these records and statistics are certainly a serious concern for Uruguay, who are currently experiencing inconsistency ahead of the match. Although in the last match they managed to beat Colombia 3-2, it was the only win in the last five qualifying matches they have played. Facing Brazil in a situation like this is not easy.

Coach Marcelo Bielsa stated: “If Colombia is a strong team with an offensive system that can create danger, Brazil also has qualities that are perhaps better. We will try our best to reduce Brazil’s possession of the ball and ensure the game takes place in our half of the field. ”
